Disneyland

The magic of Disney descended upon us! We went to Disneyland and fell in love with every square inch of the place. The boys made it fun, and seeing the joy, excitement and anticipation in every turn was priceless. It was even more special that we had this chance to share it with Emile's parents. I will take you on my tour of it... enjoy...

We actually started out at Santa Monica Pier. It was such a beautiful day, and the boys witnessing the rollercoaster was almost unbearable since they thought the pier WAS Disneyland. They had no idea how much fun really lie ahead...

We went star searching in Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, and Hollywood.
We did find a street that seemed pretty special to us.

Then we excitedly woke up to this...

family

flying Pirate ships...

silly hats...

trains...

smiles...
delicious corn dogs...

Roller coasters...
storm troopers...

long lines....

Storybook fantasy rides...

Mickey Mouse..

More rides...

Donald Duck...

Captain Hook...

Minnie..

Treasure hunts...

Flying Rides... (notice Emile with his arms out?)

Flying high....

Love that is real and exciting...

Aching back and feet... with a side of smiles....

Star Tours.. and the nausea that follows...

Jedi Training...

Darth Maul...

(Notice Simon using the force to be chosen... the force was weak with him that day)

At the end of it all... We will remember being together, laughing, eating,
screaming, and crashing at night from exhaustion.
We will definitely come back!

Conquered

We have conquered the slopes! This time we took the mountain and owned every run. It was the most beautiful night last night. Clear skies, fresh snow, and not many people.

Trenton is starting to pick up his inside ski, and Simon can make it down anything. I am so proud of them and I love seeing how much they enjoy it. I love their confidence, and willingness to try.

We got lucky last night that one little incident wasn't worse. Here is the shiner to prove it.
At least he can be proud of what he was doing when he got this. He can tell the other kiddies at Preschool he was owning the lower bowl at Ski Bowl.
What were they doing to get their black eye?
(note: picture doesn't show the size of the swelling)

Fire house Birthday Party

Most awesome BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!
Simon is turning 4 and there is no turning back.
He is practically perfect from a mother's perspective.
This birthday boy LOVES Super Hero's, and while he has a particularly sweet spot in his heart for the hero's in Star Wars, we had the privilege of introducing him to some real super hero's at the Fire Department.
I am pretty sure our birthday parties in the future will never compare to this one again.

Thank you for capturing the memories Shonda!

Ski bums...

I ski! I have skied my whole life, and I am even proud to say that I joined a ski team in high school just to learn to ski better. I didn't make any remarkable strides in the racing department, but I can hang with just about anyone in the meanwhile.

I have waited for the moment to be right to teach my boys how to ski. Take a look at our first ski lessons. We are going again very soon and we will show you progress as it comes.
