Talent Show

I may regret posting the above photo, but these are the amazing women that worked together to create a Talent Show. It showcased some of the best people in our ward!
We started off the event with a Jazzercise routine with my alter ego making an appearance. (Check me out with neon hair above)

I couldn't include all the photos, but these are just a few from the night.

There was a Maori Haka with singing and dancing! (Amazing Bonita... really!!)

A solo that would make you proud! Especially when fear almost took over and her CD didn't work. She stood alone and blew us away!

SImon on the plane yesterday

We were cracking up at this! You've got to see Simon bonk his head on the plane while he swears he isn't tired!!!

These pictures show just SOME of the fun we had this afternoon. Need I say that it was 97 degrees, the water was a steamy 78 degrees, and the winds brought the dry air?

Trenton is a PRO! He manages to debate whether surfing or wiping-out is more fun. At least it is non-stop fun for him. Someone else might just think that surfing is the only fun part.

We love it here, so much so that Trenton asked if it was

OK to cry when he realized we have to leave.

We'll be back soon... more surf, more sandcastles,

and more time with Uncle Lee and Aunt Sarah await us.

The greatest day of the year

ok.. maybe not for everyone else, but it was MY birthday!
Here I am with my stash of birthday goodies...

After all the cake, ice cream, gifts and cards... we went to Hood River. We flew kites, saw the blossom festival, played in the gorge, and even stopped by the Bonneville Dam.

I love birthdays and I'm glad people love me on my special day.

Just in case you frequent this blog and have noticed my absence, it is because I was waiting to post pictures with sunshine in them. Since that isn't going to happen, this is what else we've been doing.

Sleeping out a the local mall to get the latest and greatest iPad! We were crazy.. and it was COLD, but so much fun!!! (yes.. that's me. We got their at 8pm and were still 16th in line for the following morning!!!)

Rain rain go away!

While the rain has been coming down... I have recovered from that nasty surgery, and the boys have been playing basketball.

Trenton is showing off his drawings here. The first is a basketball team, and the second is a picture of our family. I really love this because there is actually some details that tell a very true story in it (like our green roof and door, our "long" driveway, two cars, the color of the cars, Kona, and the shape of our little house)!

This is Simon's picture of him playing basketball. I was shocked that he did so well for a three year old!! But then again, he really shocked me when he went from diapers to potty trained in one day!!!

Congratulations little man! He is showing his massive muscles here.

I'm not sure what you did on Friday, but I had a wonderful sinus surgery. My good doctor fixed my deviated septum, removed some polyps and some other gross stuff that I won't go into detail on. The good news is I should feel better in couple weeks, the bad news is that in order to get to all the "stuff" the doctor had to drill through my cheek from under my lip. Apparently, I have the hardest face he has ever seen and he had to work so hard to break through that he cracked my face (not a joke). I now have a cracked cheek, pinched nerve that has numbed my face for who knows how long and the joys of nasal oozing. Thank goodness for anesthesia, Oxycodone and Emile who is taking great care of me.

I love Simon!

We celebrated him yesterday and I think he fully grasped the idea that the world revolved around HIM!


This year's theme was airplanes. This was easy for him to choose since he is enamored by them!
We took him to the museum the day before his big day and there were planes and helicopters everywhere!


Then we had a party where everyone jumped on board and got him planes!!!
He even had flying planes on his cake!

Then to top it all off, I made him green airplane cookies for Nursery.

There are so many things I love about this boy!

He is so smart.
He loves chocolate and sweets.
He's passionate.
He still has comforts (like his "Flipper" stuffed animal)
He's playful
and he knows how to make everyone smile!
