Multnomah Falls

We ran off to Multnomah Falls and committed to the BIG hike. All the way to the top. I've lived here my entire life and have never done it. My hips are STILL hurting from going on the vertical climb. :D

I think the backpacks are what gave us the best workout.

So, to cool down, Emile dunked Trenton head in the freezing cold river.

We WISH we could have used THIS stroller. The path was a little too narrow and too steep, but we'll be cruisin around on flatter surfaces.

Perfume?

So, I'm out with some friends the other night and one of my cute friends Kim has on this cute new smell. I totally can't remember the name of it, but I was nearly caught making out with her arm! :D So, this got me thinking. What scents, lotions, perfumes, etc are you wearing? I on a hunt, so PLEASE let me know.

spoiled rotten

Not Simon... ME! Shonda pulled this one out of her hat, and I feel like I'm the luckiest Mom in town. How do I pick which one is my favorite? My snap shots will be back soon, so don't think I'm just making Shonda do all the work!

Which one is your favorite?

4th of July

This needs a small explanation. My extended family gets together after an annual golf tournament. This year it was at the family "pond". My uncle decided to follow through with a dare for $100. Would YOU jump into a pond the looks like THIS for $100???

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

The good life!

Slip Slidin Away....
We got the biggest, baddest, coolest slipin slide in the neighborhood, and we couldn't wait to test it out with cousins in the beautiful 92 degree weather we are having.

And... We couldn't leave out little Simon from all the fun.
Shonda took what I think is the cutest picture of him. Check it out...here.

Happy Father's Day

I have a GREAT husband! and I have GREAT pictures of him with our boys, but what I want to show you is how he ACTUALLY spent his Father's day.
I put the arrow there to help. You can also see right next to him is HIS father. I don't think it is possible that he could have spent it any better way this year. Happy Father's Day!

First "trim"

At four months I don't want to call this a "haircut", because really... I was just getting rid of those squirreley long stragglers from when he was a newby. There is TONS of hair that wasn't touched though.

And... this is the face that we are GROWING to love. All it seems to do is GROW! At least no one can say he isn't fed. :D

First blankets

I have never made a blanket before. But, I managed to make two. One was for a friend; I purchased her fabric to be used for one of Shonda's photo shoots, and then I took the fabric back after the photo session, and made a blanket out of it. In theory I was really excited about this idea, so I learned how to make a simple blanket by testing one on Trenton first. Here are both. It was pretty fun, and I think they turned out alright. :D

And.. while out running around, we spotted this license plate. While I have NO idea how to knit...I'm not sure that I would EVER think that the TYPE of people knitting would have THIS kind of thing on their car.

19 GRAMS!?!

19 grams of Fiber? That's what the Dr ordered. Little kids are supposed to have that much per day. Adults, 25. You will realize how impossible this is when you see that apples (with skin) only have 2.1.
One cup of brown rice has 1.2.
1 cup corn has 2.8.
1/4 cup raisins have 2

You see... right? And, if anyone needs advice for the problem I dealt with in the last 24 hours, I think I might be an unfortunate expert. We have seen laxatives, suppositories, and yes... even an enema.

If anything good has come out of this, we DID find a delicious fiber bar with 9 GRAMS of fiber. They are REALLY delicious and currently on sale at Safeway 4 boxes for $10. You better hurry, because I'm going to buy them out by the end of the day.

wii. wiiiiiii

Did anyone know how hard it is to come by a wii? I had NO idea. Now, if you know me, you know how much I abhor games. I don't mean board games, I mean gaming games. I picture zombies not moving for hours sitting in the same spot, lost for hours, days, weeks. But, I thought it could be fun (and a huge stretch) for me to get Emile a Wii for his birthday. It is interactive, and almost fun. :D
It was hard to find, but with some help finding one (thanks Tyler) and contributers (thanks Lee & Sarah), we now have a wii. Here are some funny pictures, and a video to see all the fun.I think these two look pretty funny boxing each other. (super short video)

Can you guess what they are playing?? :D (super short too)

And... Finally... we LOVE you and MISS you already DR. SARAH!

Happy Birthday Emile!

So, my amazing husband is turning 29 today. It is the last year of his second decade here on this earth. I have had the pleasure of spending this last decade with him. And, in this past decade, we have seen and done a lot together. I couldn't be more happy for him on this day because today is HIS day. The day that HIS existence is actually called to the front of our minds and we make him feel as special as we can. So, in honor of that... I want to show you a few things that make me smile when I think of him.

Happy Birthday! I am always laughing and loving you!

Look what I did!

Ok... so I got another creative streak and look what happened! I can't wait for Simon to sport this out in public.

First overnighter

Here's another big THANKS to UNCLE LEE for letting the boys borrow his cool sprinter van for the weekend.

The boys had their first "Father/Son Overnight" to the coast.
Here they are before they took off.

And while they were gone.. Mom got sick. So Simon and I had a party watching a chick flick, eating sushi and salad. :D Minus being sick... it was kinda special being with this little guy.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother’s day and on this special day, I have had the opportunity to look forward and think about where I want to be as a mother. What kind of values I want to instill in my children, and I have also had the opportunity to do a lot of reflection on my own childhood. The good thing, is that we all had or have a Mother. What did she teach you, what wonderful memories do you have of her? I am grateful for my mother. She taught me some of life’s most important lessons. To name a few, she taught me that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that prayer and scripture study are the keys to finding peace, stability and answers in life. I am grateful for all the times that she made a conscious effort to let the spirit into our home. It did make a difference, and I hope that as I raise my children that I can have that same influence on them. I am grateful that my mother taught me to believe in myself, to be responsible, to celebrate others and their accomplishments. She taught me to banish bitterness, and to set my standards high. She has never stopped being a mother. Somehow I thought that when I became an adult that I wouldn’t need my mother as much as I did as when I was a child, I was wrong. I find myself appreciating what my mom has to offer more now than I ever have before. I find myself calling on her and asking how long to cook the pork for, or how to deal with teething a baby. My mom was born to be wonderful.
