Does this sign excite your grandma?

It does mine!
For more FANTASTIC pictures of what we did this weekend, go here. You won't regret it.
But you might end up looking for this on the side of a road near you.

new pictures

I haven't been that great at taking pictures lately, but I wanted to post a few that I just took.

Now... If when Trenton was just a smidge older we took these... (click here) . This was extra fun dressing him up the same and seeing the similarities... and the differences.

Why will they NEVER smile at the same time?

This was as close to smiling at the same time as a mom can hope for.

I love...

Lakeshore Learning.

There is the GREAT new store that finally opened. It is called Lakeshore Learning, and we had so much fun there the other night. There is TONS of stuff that I can't wait to do with Trenton. It all started today when we made a little person from a kit we bought. For some reason he thinks it is "Papa"; probably because the triangle is upside down making it seem like a mustache.
So, Papa... we love you. Polka dots, yellow hair, mismatched shoes and all.

Our Beach Trip

We went to the beach!
My parents have set an annual tradition of going to the coast. I'm so glad they set this up for us, it is fun and the best way to show off all of our happenings, is put into this video.

And.. if you want to see how much the kids have grown... here is the link to the video from last year.

Real life us..

If you know our house...and our yard... you know why this picture is what we look like every night in the summer
(this is not posed... this is real life)

this bucket is a much better hat than a bucket.
(this is a small moment captured before the hat/bucket became a device for minimal torture)

AND.... this video is us after an afternoon of cleaning.
Why does Emile think of doing such a thing, and why does Trenton find it so funny?
(surprisingly, this is not fake either... just an afternoon of questionable parenting)

A party!

My sister, my aunt, and I threw a party for my cousin who is pregnant with her first baby. I love babies, I love parties, and I even love being pregnant... ... ... sometimes. Here are the things I miss about being pregnant...

1. everyone touching me
2. getting to know every bathroom, everywhere I go
3. my ability to smell even the most marvelous scents from quite a long distance
4. my ob/gyn
5. advice from strangers
6. my wardrobe
7. seeing myself grow larger; daily (who doesn't love that?)
8. reading/collecting baby name books
9. having to find my toes to see the pedicure
10. baby games at parties!

So, in preparation to throw a party, I figured out how to make a diaper cake! Can you guess how many diapers are in the cake? (this was our ONLY game!)

Yes... Chocolate dipped strawberries & pretzels. A personal favorite with a great excuse to make them.

Isn't this cake cute? I had NOTHING to do with it, but I couldn't help but take a picture. Too cute.
It almost makes me want another?!?

Happy Anniversary!

This was our 7th Anniversary! First off, let me tell you that as I have been reflecting and looking at the last 7 years (10 years together), I have come to better understand that I am JUST beginning to learn what "love" is. I love Emile more each year! We have grown together, we have made a family, a life, and there are endless possibilities for our future. I'm just so glad that this journey is ours together.

And... I LOVE that for our Anniversary we did THIS.....

The Willamette Jet boats! They were SO fun!

I know Trenton doesn't look thrilled, but it's because we just got soaked.

And... a little too much fun for one little boy to handle.

Then, we had a REAL date! My absolute favorite. What a great dinner, a special night away, with my favorite person.

Multnomah Falls

We ran off to Multnomah Falls and committed to the BIG hike. All the way to the top. I've lived here my entire life and have never done it. My hips are STILL hurting from going on the vertical climb. :D

I think the backpacks are what gave us the best workout.

So, to cool down, Emile dunked Trenton head in the freezing cold river.

We WISH we could have used THIS stroller. The path was a little too narrow and too steep, but we'll be cruisin around on flatter surfaces.

Perfume?

So, I'm out with some friends the other night and one of my cute friends Kim has on this cute new smell. I totally can't remember the name of it, but I was nearly caught making out with her arm! :D So, this got me thinking. What scents, lotions, perfumes, etc are you wearing? I on a hunt, so PLEASE let me know.

spoiled rotten

Not Simon... ME! Shonda pulled this one out of her hat, and I feel like I'm the luckiest Mom in town. How do I pick which one is my favorite? My snap shots will be back soon, so don't think I'm just making Shonda do all the work!

Which one is your favorite?

4th of July

This needs a small explanation. My extended family gets together after an annual golf tournament. This year it was at the family "pond". My uncle decided to follow through with a dare for $100. Would YOU jump into a pond the looks like THIS for $100???

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

The good life!

Slip Slidin Away....
We got the biggest, baddest, coolest slipin slide in the neighborhood, and we couldn't wait to test it out with cousins in the beautiful 92 degree weather we are having.

And... We couldn't leave out little Simon from all the fun.
Shonda took what I think is the cutest picture of him. Check it out...here.

Happy Father's Day

I have a GREAT husband! and I have GREAT pictures of him with our boys, but what I want to show you is how he ACTUALLY spent his Father's day.
I put the arrow there to help. You can also see right next to him is HIS father. I don't think it is possible that he could have spent it any better way this year. Happy Father's Day!

First "trim"

At four months I don't want to call this a "haircut", because really... I was just getting rid of those squirreley long stragglers from when he was a newby. There is TONS of hair that wasn't touched though.

And... this is the face that we are GROWING to love. All it seems to do is GROW! At least no one can say he isn't fed. :D

First blankets

I have never made a blanket before. But, I managed to make two. One was for a friend; I purchased her fabric to be used for one of Shonda's photo shoots, and then I took the fabric back after the photo session, and made a blanket out of it. In theory I was really excited about this idea, so I learned how to make a simple blanket by testing one on Trenton first. Here are both. It was pretty fun, and I think they turned out alright. :D

And.. while out running around, we spotted this license plate. While I have NO idea how to knit...I'm not sure that I would EVER think that the TYPE of people knitting would have THIS kind of thing on their car.

19 GRAMS!?!

19 grams of Fiber? That's what the Dr ordered. Little kids are supposed to have that much per day. Adults, 25. You will realize how impossible this is when you see that apples (with skin) only have 2.1.
One cup of brown rice has 1.2.
1 cup corn has 2.8.
1/4 cup raisins have 2

You see... right? And, if anyone needs advice for the problem I dealt with in the last 24 hours, I think I might be an unfortunate expert. We have seen laxatives, suppositories, and yes... even an enema.

If anything good has come out of this, we DID find a delicious fiber bar with 9 GRAMS of fiber. They are REALLY delicious and currently on sale at Safeway 4 boxes for $10. You better hurry, because I'm going to buy them out by the end of the day.

wii. wiiiiiii

Did anyone know how hard it is to come by a wii? I had NO idea. Now, if you know me, you know how much I abhor games. I don't mean board games, I mean gaming games. I picture zombies not moving for hours sitting in the same spot, lost for hours, days, weeks. But, I thought it could be fun (and a huge stretch) for me to get Emile a Wii for his birthday. It is interactive, and almost fun. :D
It was hard to find, but with some help finding one (thanks Tyler) and contributers (thanks Lee & Sarah), we now have a wii. Here are some funny pictures, and a video to see all the fun.I think these two look pretty funny boxing each other. (super short video)

Can you guess what they are playing?? :D (super short too)

And... Finally... we LOVE you and MISS you already DR. SARAH!
